is a former WA State Senator and served as the Chairman of the WA State Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee. During his term in the WA State Senate, Steve was instrumental in the passage of legislation including Teacher Evaluations, 24 Credit High School Graduation Requirement, Charter Schools, a state-wide high-quality Early Learning, an historic increase in K-12 funding and reduction in state college tuition. Steve, a former Procter & Gamble executive, is currently a Partner at Altus Alliance, a management consulting firm working with technology companies.
is Principal and Founder of Curator PR, a digital public relations and marketing agency based in Seattle WA. Curator helps some of the country’s top brands build relationships with consumers in today’s highly complex marketplace of conversation. Prior to founding Curator, Scott was SVP and Senior Director of PR for DDB Worldwide. Scott began his career as a Television journalist and worked for Boeing and Intel.
As a first-generation college graduate, Chris knows the transformative power of education to lift families out of poverty. Chris joined the League of Education Voters in 2007 in order to ensure that our public education system provides Washington families with high-quality options for their kids’ education. She believes each student should be prepared for post-secondary opportunities and our education system should be designed to make that possible.

Marty provides strategic and political guidance on federal, state and local issues to leading non-profit institutions and associations, technology and energy companies, government agencies, and high-profile individuals.

A Non-Partisan Coordinated Effort
Education Research Institute (501c3)
ERI is the coordinating entity that will drive the strategy and execution of the initiative as well as be the funding vehicle. Steve Litzow leads ERI.
Edunomics Lab is a university based research center focused on exploring and modeling complex education finance decisions. Edunomics will build the database, tools and provide the analysis for the initiative.
Curator PR is a digital public relations and marketing firm that drive the marketing efforts for the initiative coordinating with the Seattle Times and other Partners. Scott Battishill is the Principal & Founder.
Seattle Times is the largest-circulation daily newspaper in Washington. The Times is partnering with ERI to promote the initiative in both its daily newspaper and online vehicles. Frank Blethen is the Publisher of the Seattle Times.
